Transpose
What is the ‘Transpose’ task?
The ‘Transpose’ task can be used to organize and analyse data, and can be used to create numerical and text summaries of data tables.
How to use the ‘Transpose’ task?
The important fields in the ‘Transpose’ task are
- Select Table
Use this dropdown menu to select the table which you would like to analyse.
- Transpose Type
Use this dropdown menu to select the type of transpose analysis you would like to do. In this example, we’re presenting the ‘Crosstab’ feature. You can also select ‘Mirror Matrix’ or ‘Column Name to Label’.
- Group Data by These Values
Use this dropdown menu to select the columns from the input table which you would like to send to grouped rows in the output table. These will become the row headings in the output table.
- Change Column Headers
Use this dropdown menu to select the column from the input table which you would like to send to column in the output table. This will become the column headings in the output table.
- Values for New Columns
Use this dropdown menu to select the column from the input table which you would like to summarise. The text or numerical calculation will apply to this selection.
- Method for Aggregating Values
Use this dropdown menu to select the type of calculation you would like to apply to selected ‘Value for New Columns’. This can be a numerical or text calculation or a user-defined static value.
How to use the ‘Define Output Table’ and the ‘Output Options’ sections in the ‘Transpose’ task?
The ‘Output Options’ section in the ‘Transpose’ task can be used to modify features of the output table. The fields related to this section become visible on selecting the ‘Output Options’ checkbox.
